My work is based on working and manipulating materials whether on a flat two dimensional or three dimensional plain. Combining different and contrasting mediums with a reactive approach to working is how I work best. I am very physical in making my art, completely emerging myself in the piece and often finishing a piece with as much of the materials used on myself as the finished outcome, which is why my work is just an extension of my personality.
I am a very energetic person that brings an unhinged and strange energy to the space I am working in and this is very obvious in my work. I have a blunt and direct approach to life and this is how I approach materials and problems I am faced with. As a dancer I am used to pushing my body to the extremes and I tend to use my whole body when working to come out with physical pieces.
I am very interested in this program as I believe manchester will be the best place to refine my energy and strengths. Being a city full of excitement and opportunities it give me the best chance to really develop my work and be able to experiment with endless inspirations. I feel a BA (HONS) will give me the time and space to expand my knowledge while pushing me to my true potential.
