Making contemporary Sculpture by Ian Dawson
This book includes interviews with established artists who open up with the processes, materials ,intervention, collaboration and many more points that are relevant for practitioners. I found it incredibly helpful to hear how artist describe their working progress and also showed different artist I haven't thought to be related to my own practice.
Felix Gonzalez-torres
Felix Gonzales-torres is mentioned heavily in Installation Art: A critical review and also deals with the ephemeral as well as installation. In his work the Candy spills , he invites the viewer to take a piece of candy until they are all gone. He acknowledges that without the audience his work would be incomplete and with a small gesture of generosity he merges the sense of private and public. Dealing with the sense of loss deep embedded in his work but then turning it into a positive experience for the veiwer.
Instillation Art: A cirtical review.
Instillation Art differs from the two dimensional media in it addresses the viewer directly as a literal presence in the space rather than the imagining the viewer as a pair of disembodied eyes that surveys from a distance. Completely engulfing and immerse the viewer allowing the viewer in to experience the work. spectator participation is so integral to installation art. Not to a isolated art for artists concept a much more involved process. This book really helped me to understand my own work and how it impacts the audience. Making my work to be more audience involved interests me bringing the public into the creative process.
Site
Site
I am also interested in site specific space art as during my own practice through out the year I have been limited to my small studio space which has constricted my practice and hindered my ideas so with expanding different environments my work will be produced in this will help open my mind to different outcomes and also enforce how the space can make a piece of art. As a group we can planning on visiting different environments away from the studio for example a run down mill and use the materials found there with only bringing limited materials to the source to work with. This I believe will help explore how the different sites will impact on the work and allowing inspiration to come mainly from the source then manipulating it to relate to our studio practice.

Launch day
On the launch day we were placed into groups set on the theme we have chosen as The ephemeral and transience were simiuar we were placed into one large group that was then later spilt into two smaller groups due to conflicting ideas in the sense of the work it self changing or the place changing. The group I am interested in is when the artwork is not permanent and is open to change and temporary pop up work spaces. This also links into the Site area and possible looking into the digital.
