Jacque Lipchitz

As my work is hevily inspired by cubism and surrealism so I have been researching cubists and abstract sculptures.With my multiple figures combined on one drawing it gives different and angles and forms,trying to capture the third dimensional on a flat form. which closely relates to sculpture especially cubism sculpture. Lipchitzs work looks very closely to Picasso's drawings.

  

Yves Klein

The reason I look at yes klein was because of being drawn to the act of using the figure to paint with. and this particular pieces of work are performance based as well as the end product being important. Carloee schneemann work is also produced in the way of using paint and performance pieces as well but with a different context of ridiculing the macho appearance of the american abstract expressionists. 

15N

15N is a group of artist that have got together to place our work around the city. Our work is not related in anyway but the limited use of colors present in our work allows our work to look aesthetically pleasing to curate. And as a group we work well to bounce off ideas together which also helps alot when working in a group. I am for one a very solo practitioner and find depending on people hard work and often get frustrated so it was important to me when find people to collaborate together that we are going to work well together as well as our work fit in.

Georg Baselitz

As looking into ways of how I want to exhibit my work I have experimented with using footsteps on a wall to represent the literal movements in dance and Baselitz work uses very primitive and childish ways to construct the images which I thought worked  well in an abstract way of dipicting a female forms.

Alexander Archipenko

Archipenko is an artist ho looks at the body forms in movement and combines the geometric feel of cubism with the curve of the body. Which is what I tend to combine in my work.

Exhibition

Thinking of working with different artists/my peers to produce exhibitions outside the studio. I have come up with a few ideas to bring my work together with other peoples. This includes a group that we have got to together called 15N. we put out work up in the under passage as an outdoor exhibition. and we are now thinking of where else we can put out work up, including some alley ways in the city. our work is all completely different, so its finding ways to make our work look aesthetically pleasing. I have also found another peer who I would like to work with and we are going to project her images on to my white morph suit.

During my assesment of the last project my tutors commented on the fact my figures look like they are doing more like stretches than dance moves so I decieded to direct my research into the act of yoga and such things as the bases of my figure durings. I thought the flow of movement when two or more people are combined in the poses where very interesting as they stayed connected pretty much the how time, the flow of energy , connecting two to make one I thought showed a syblimisim of a love story and captured alot of movement. My work isnt based on concepts such as love for eachother but more the passion in each movement and for each disipline is what inspires me. I want to develope my work to look at involing two people and the continous changing of lines.As well as continuing simplifying the body forms into the linear black and white drawings I have been working with.

15N

THis is the first time 15N came together to exhibit work within the city with using 3d work but mostly combining different sized flat medium together, As this is the initional get toether of the group it was mostly experimenting with how the dianamic of the group worked and getting used to the style of people we were producing. People were walking past and questioning what we were doing or stood and watched what we were doing for awhile which is the impact you would wish to have when exhibiting in a public forum.

Art and Audience

Aa part of the 15N group I decided to put my work in a tree because of the spindillay limb like forms of the tree and my drawings. I want to experiment with doing the poses in the tree itself to be like apart of living/performance art but due to the difficulties of being in a tree itself that idea didnt really work.
