Subject to change- Collaborative piece

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HCe3Bj9TMuU&feature=youtu.be

After filming all the development of the piece during the three day of set up and development which was meant to be shown on a T.Vs next to the piece then having technology dis functioning that we could no longer burn the videos to the dvd in time for the exhibition due to importing times. We decided to collect all the images of how the piece started and made a slideshow of them so it would still be evident tot he viewer how much the work changed and an insight to the creative process even if not the live feed or continuous progression we were first hoping for.

All the artists captions.

ian 'mercury'
My work plays on the ideas of digital reality and manipulation of hypothetical systems in our culture such as the stock exchange. This idea seems solid but is in fact built on very dubious foundations and i want to expose ‘behind the curtain’ of something that seems real but is actually an illusion.

frank 'be mine'
i have created 4 video peices which all sync together exploring the use of 'the digital' and how the digital is an outlet from many people to become or act as a different person. For many the digital is an outlet to escape the reality of life.

antonia 'crystal mapping'
my art structures patterns found in natural substance, the infinite combinations of shapes inform my practice. gathering material from geology and geometry i have made a series of crystal maps.

lucy 'total control'
my work will be a live perfomance peice on the opening night.

JASMIN VENESS - MY PRACTICE EXPLORES THE NATURE OF WEIGHTINESS , BALANCE, FLUIDITY , COLOUR AND MANIPULATING MATERIALS IN A SITE SPECIFIC MANNER. WITH EXAGGERATING POINTS OF INTEREST AND PAUSES IN THE FORMS.

Matt Mullins - Fredrich Jameson explains the increasingly interconnected realities of digital & physical as a 'Hyperreality', a reality that imitates rather than replaces the 'real'. By using video & internet interfaces I am interested in exploring this hyperreality.

Alex Baker - My practice includes the exploration and dissection of 3D structures and the architecture that does with them. Once dissected i recreate the structure in a monumental form, in remembrance to its previous state.

Rosemarie tucker- My work revolves around digital manipulation and abstraction of my initial interpretation of form which I then re-introduce either back into the space or new context.

Film Student- James Johnson

James Johnson came in to film the event. This produced a thorougher and natural view point of the exhibition showing the transience aspect of Lucy's performance piece .This also gave it another sense of professionalism and produced another digital aspect to the show , It was an one night show the video captures it out the peak for anyone who missed it.

Professional Photographer- Peter Wilshaw

We called in a favor and managed to get a professional photographer to capture the event. I am extremely pleased with how they turned out, photos with fresh eyes and good lighting produced a professional edge.
